His biography reads "A student in 1890 and a major benefactor of the Academy, he was a highly successful surgeon and medical educator. He organized and commanded U.S. Base Hospital 33 in france during the First World War. An expert hunter and fisherman, his prowess is evident in the Academy's Elting Room."
